Just wanted to share our experience at Tania’s in downtown Hobart.Went here late Saturday night to celebrate my little sister having her baby (late because I had been at the hospital supporting my sister). I had never tried this spot before, and didn’t realize they were open so late on Saturday nights. Just saw it was a place that was open and nearby. The kitchen was still serving food til midnight and the bar was open til 2am. Perfect.I am SO glad we randomly chose this place to go. The food was absolutely INCREDIBLE. The people were so welcoming and friendly. Everything was amazing. Seriously it was so good it made me dance with happiness the second I took a bite of my food.We spent quite a bit but had an appetizer, dinner, drinks, and dessert. And the food was high quality; fresh ingredients, made with care and skill, and were large portions. The drinks were also great. DEFINITELY well worth it. We had enough leftovers for a small lunch for me and two of my teen sons the next day.Everything we had was absolutely amazing. This is now one of my favorite spots in NWI.I HIGHLY recommend as both a restaurant or a bar destination. There is a restaurant side separated from the bar side, as well as tables in the bar area
Food was delicious! Saw a video on tiktok and thought it looked so good, so we thought we'd swing by to try, especially cause tacos were 2 today (Tues). It tastes that good! Really loved the pastelillo. Best horchata we've had in a while. We're definitely coming back Really friendly customer service.
Oh, my GAWD! I wish I would have ate here more often when I livednin East Chicago! I stopped by the Hobart locataion early on a Thursday afternoon for a to-go snack, and Tania's did not disappoint. The host was super friendly, personable, and helpful as I have diet restrictions. Lucky for me it was 2 pastelillos day (not gonna lie, I was drawn in by the 2 pastelillo sign outside - I know how delicious these little deep fried beef and potatoe pockets are - I savored the flavor of sofrito in each bite), and I ordered a papa rellena (it's a potatoe ball with beef filling) as well. I asked about the sauces, and the host was willing to give me one of each if I wanted to try them all. I got the red, spicy sauce (not too spicy for this cauc-asian), green sauce and garlic sauce - all of them were so tasty. I'mma have to go back for an actual dinner. NWI, you gotta try Tania's Latin American cuisine!
Went today for lunch and wanted to try some appetizers. That alone was a meal within itself. I always enjoy the music and meet someone new and just chat like Hoosiers did from back in the day when neighborhoods were so enjoyable and fun. Your papa de relleno is the Best I Have Ever Had! Honest!!!! I was a tad hesitant to order it because when I've had them before from else where, they were so greasy inside out and it stole the flavor. But yours, Tanias, was the best. The potatoe inside was so smooth from being whipped just enough and Well Cooked and flavorful. The meat was very good. Not too salty or over bearing w seasoning. I didn't put any sauce on it at 1st bite because I wanted to taste the skills from whomever makes them. D.E.L.I.C.I.O.U S. IS NOT ENOUGH TO DESCRIBE..You're morcilla is PERFECT! PUNTO!!! AND your plantains (platanos)are always my treat there. Nothing was Greasy, fresh oil was used and yet, everything very flavorful. Thanks for shopping and picking the perfect ingredients for us to enjoy our meals. I know I Did today!!! 5star x 1,000!!!
With out a doubt the best thing that's happened to down town Hobart! Food was amazing and nothing but good vibes here. Thank you for opening up another location in the region area! Try anything on their menu, you will not be disappointed.
The food was good, atmosphere was upbeat, music was on point —from the first bite of their tantalizing (regeno de papa) fried potato ball was delish (like my mom used to make) to the divine experience of their Mofongo, every dish is a symphony of Caribbean flavors that'll have your taste buds dancing the bachata in delight. My wife and I recommend this spot! 5 stars
I'm from Chicago and this place is up there with the best of them. Now live in Northweat Indiana and don't have to go to Chicago for good latin food. I had bistec en salsa and puerto rican rice, couldn't stop eating . Also had some pastelillos and yuca. Great stuff. Great place.
We had a great experience. We both looked at each other when we had the first bite. The food was great. This place will be added to our favorite places to go. It is in downtown Hobart. Give it a try. You won't be disappointed. It is always good to help out a new local restaurant.
